The Tories are incapable of scrutinising anything, and have no inclination to do anything much that requires any amount of effort.

When I arrived in the room, I was surprised to see what I thought was a member of the public take a seat at the committee table. It turned out to be a Tory cllr called Sowerby. He said absolutely nothing all evening. This is how things are, and how the Capita deal was pushed through: apathy and complacency and a total lack of overview and scrutiny.

The Tories claim Coleman was wrong to claim that One Barnet was whipped in scrutiny: the evidence would suggest that if not, they are simply naturally incapable of performing this function.Mrs Angryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00586223909475832791noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6371203489316363738.post-61355040226366237142013-10-26T18:25:44.578+01:002013-10-26T18:25:44.578+01:00Thanks for asking these awkward questions on our b...Thanks for asking these awkward questions on our behalf. It's unbelievable that our hard earned payment to Barnet Council is so airily shovelled over to Capita plc. I have NO doubt that the £4.1 million would not have made its way back to Barnet if you hadn't chased it down. Whoever heard of a plc organising a big bank transaction to take place on a Sunday? The incompetence is frightening. As the officers run the show, the Conservative councillors seem to have no will to look after our best interests. It is thoroughly depressing.Suzy Fnoreply@blogger.com
